About Breed Premiums

Breed Premiums is an independent reference site that collects pet insurance premium figures that insurers, licensed marketplaces and the North American Pet Health Insurance Association have published, and sets them beside veterinary references on breed health and insurers' published claim costs. It does not sell insurance, is not a licensed insurance producer, takes no commission and gives no advice on which policy to buy.

How the site works

Premium figures come only from published sources: Pawlicy Advisor and Insurify (licensed marketplaces that publish medians of their customers' quotes), Forbes Advisor's quote study, Fetch's figures for its own policyholders, and the North American Pet Health Insurance Association's industry averages. Breed health predispositions come from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and peer-reviewed VetCompass studies; treatment costs from claim figures insurers publish. Each figure shows its source and date, and nothing is estimated: where a breed has no published premium, the page says so and shows the national average instead. The methodology page lists every source, the checked dates and what was left out.

What the site is not

Breed Premiums is not an insurer, an agency or a licensed insurance producer. It does not sell, quote or recommend policies, takes no referral fees and carries no affiliate links. For licence checks and complaints, every state insurance department is free to contact through the NAIC directory.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email hello@breedpremiums.com with the page and a link. Corrections go into the data file and the check date updates with the next build.
